Our slide promo is back! Now through the end of July 1st 2020, send us a small flat rate box of mounted slide film and we’ll scan it at our regular size for $150! This is a great opportunity to bring your family memories to life! Surprise your grandparents, send in old wedding day slides, or get a head start on the holidays. The possibilities are endless! Below are some commonly asked questions about the promotion:
Q: How much does it cost?
A: $150 for however many mounted slides you can fit into a small flat rate box! (8 ¹¹/₁₆” x 5 ⁷/₁₆” x 1 ¾”) If it fits, it scans!” You can also order optional proof prints for $75! All images will be printed at a standard 4×6 proof print size.
Q: I have color negatives too. Can I send in those as well?
A: Absolutely! It costs $500 for however many color negatives you can fit into a small flat rate box. You can also order optional proof prints for $250.
Q: What if I have both color negatives and slides I want to send in together?
A: We can do that too! You’re welcome to fill a small flat rate box with both negatives and slides. The cost will vary between $150 and $500 depending on the negative-to-slide ratio. For a more accurate quote, feel free to email a picture of your box to us at info@thefindlab.com.
Q: I have A LOT of slides! What should I do?
A: You can either send in multiple small flat rate boxes, or upgrade to our medium flat rate promo pricing. When sending in a medium flat rate box, make sure it is the top-loading flat rate box (11 ¼” x 8 ¾” x 6”) : it costs $800 for however many slides you can fit into a medium flat rate box. You can also order optional proof prints for $450.
Q: What if I only have a handful of mounted slides? How much will it cost then?
A: If you have 50 or more mounted slides, it’s $1 per slide. If you have less than 50 mounted slides, it’s $2 per slide. If your slides are unmounted that is not part of our promo and will require a custom price.
Q: What if I only have a few negatives? Can I still send those in?
A: Absolutely! Shoot us an email at info@thefindlab.com for cut negative color pricing and we can give you an exact estimate for how many frames or rolls you have!
Q: Can I send in printed photos as well?
A: Not for this promo! The slide promo applies to mounted slides ($150/small flat rate box) or already developed color negatives ($500/small flat rate box), not printed photos and instant film.
Q: What about black & white negatives?
A: Sorry, the promo applies to mounted slide film and already developed color negatives ONLY, not black & white film. For pricing on already developed black & white scans, email info@thefindlab.com!
Q: Can you scan single-cut negatives that are unmounted?
A: Maybe, depending on the size of the cut negative, we may be able to fit them on our Frontier scanner. However, this is not part of our slide promo, so a custom price would be required. Email info@thefindlabl.com with more information.
Q: What size will my scans be?
A: All slide film that falls under the promo will be scanned as regulars (8 inches on the short side).
Q: Will they be run on the Frontier or the Noritsu?
A: Mounted slides can only be run on the Frontier. For color negatives, the lab will select which scanner to run them on based on the condition and size of the negatives.
Q: Can I send in 35mm and 120 film?
A: Absolutely! The promo covers both medium format and 35mm slides or color negatives.
Q: Will my scans be edited?
A: All slide film scans will be color corrected in scanner, but they will have some character: depending on the condition of the slides, scans may have color shifts, dust, scratches, and/or small crop lines.
Q: What’s the turnaround time?
A: 10 business days! Sending in more than one flat rate box or a medium flat rate box may result in a custom turnaround time. In that instance, our office staff will be sure to reach out to you.
Q: What about new E-6 film? Do you develop that?
A: Absolutely! While new film doesn’t fall under our current slide film promotion, you can have us develop E-6 anytime! You can read more about our E-6 service here.
Q: Do I need a different order form than usual?
A: Nope! Just write “slide promo” in the notes section of a C-41 order form, and we’ll get you taken care of!
Q: When does the promo end?
A: March 31, 2019! All slides need to be at the lab by this date to qualify for the promotion, so please take this into account when shipping your packages.
